Thieves Toilet Bowl Cleaner

Replacing the cleaning supplies that we use in our space is about reducing our exposure as well as that of our kids and pets. Whenever you can replace a cleaning supply with a safer option is always a win especially when it is one that smells great, is not potentially hazardous, and does not contain endocrine disruptors. Hormone wellness is a lifetime long term priority.

Even toilet bowl cleaners has many questionable ingredients. It does not have to be that way with this recipe in your arsenal of toxic free alternative cleaning supplies.

I make a 30 ounce bottle and it will last about two to three months based on weekly cleaning using 1/2 cup each time. It will settle between uses, so just shake well prior to using.

  • 1 cup Baking Soda
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1/4 cup Lemon Juice (Add slowly to the mix as it will activate the cleaner)
  • 1/4 cup Hydrogen Peroxide
  • 1/4 cup Dr. Bronner’s Castile soap
  • 2 capfuls of Thieves Household Cleaner
  • 10 drops Lemon Essential Oil
  • 10 drops Thieves Essential Oil

How to Use: Shake prior to pouring 1/4 to 1/2 cup of cleaner in toilet bowl. Allow to sit for approximately 15 minutes and than scrub with brush and once clean than flush.

To freshen the bowl in between cleanings I will add 1/4 cup and let it sit until the next use.
